Last March, as part of the 'Sketching/Scripting Women' series, the Centre for the Study of Contemporary Women’s Writing and University of London Institute in Paris welcomed artist Johanna Schipper. A graphic novel artist and translator, Schipper (winner of the first ‘Artemisia Prize for Women’s Francophone Graphic Novels’ for her work Nos âmes sauvages (2008)), spoke about her career as a graphic novel creator and the changing status of women’s artistic production within the medium. This event forms part of the University of London's year-long celebrations, Leading Women, marking 150 year since the first female students were admitted into higher education in the UK.
