The Centre for Commercial Law Studies (CCLS), Queen Mary University of London, is hosting the third of its seminars in Paris on: “Regulating Cloud Computing and the Internet of Things”, in collaboration with the Association Française des Juristes d'Entreprise (AFJE).
This seminar: "Cloud Service Providers and Law Enforcement” will be presented by Professor Ian Walden, Solicitor and Professor of Information and Communications Law at Queen Mary University of London. He will examine the impact that the Snowden revelations and the ‘war on terror’ have had on cloud service providers and their relationship with law enforcement agencies, both domestic and foreign. Consideration will be given to contractual, legal and regulatory developments within Europe and around the world.
Insight on the topic and presentations will be provided by Winston Maxwell of Hogan Lovells Paris, and Marc Mossé of Microsoft France and the AFJE.
About the speaker
Ian Walden is Professor of Information and Communications Law at CCLS. His publications include ‘Accessing Data in the Cloud: The Long Arm of the Law Enforcement Agent' and 'Computer Crimes and Digital Investigations' (2nd ed., 2016). Ian is a solicitor and Of Counsel to Baker & McKenzie. Ian leads Queen Mary’s qLegal initiative and is a principal investigator on the Cloud Legal Project.
