Our one-year degree programme offers an opportunity to explore critical events influencing international relations and obtain a prestigious Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) postgraduate degree while studying in the centre of the French capital.
Students should have an upper second-class honours degree or equivalent in a related degree. Appropriate professional experience in a cognate field could substitute for degree requirement.
If English is not your first language, satisfactory evidence of your English language proficiency must be provided. IELTS 7.0 is the required level for entry to the course.
The degree is taught entirely in English and there is no French language requirement.

The MA in International Relations is concerned with analysing the key issues and concepts in world politics. The programme will provide you with a sophisticated theoretical and applied understanding of international relations including areas of expertise such as war and security, globalisation and development, and US foreign policy. The programme is delivered via an arrangement of workshops, guest lectures and Masterclasses all of which centre on specific themes of the programme as well as providing a basic overview of the modules. These will take place University of London Institute at Paris. All sessions are led by a faculty member of the School of Politics and International Relations.
Along with the campus-based aspects of the programme, some modules will be taught through an online environment by a dedicated tutor. The tutor will facilitate and encourage discussion via online forums, and will be available for Skype or email discussion with students during "drop in" hours (usually two sessions weekly).
All campus based teaching takes place at the University of London Institute in Paris. Travel and accommodation are not included in the cost of the tuition fees.
Assessments will be primarily in the form of research essays, although some modules might include report writing.
