Situated at the heart of Paris, the University of London of London Institute in Paris functions as a hub for researchers and students coming from British and other European institutions as well as from the United States and the Arab world, particularly North Africa. The vocation of the Institute is to foster links between different academic cultures and communities with an emphasis placed on interdisciplinary and transnational studies. The challenge for the future, and part of its stated research mission, is to bring together the best of in the Anglo-American academy alongside French and European perspectives. To this end, the research questions ULIP staff will address over the next four years will focus specifically on areas within and alongside French studies in the UK context, but also seeking to extend ULIP’s reach beyond UK French Studies into new territories. To this end, the Institute is developing two important and related research networks, the The Centre for the Study of France and North Africa (CSFNA) and the Centre for Expatriate and Migrant Writers in Paris.
